Free As A Human

Free As A Human Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization advocating for the elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking. As part of our mission to serve our communities, we implement the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. These include Goal 5, advocating for Gender Equality and eliminating violence against women including human trafficking; Goal 8, which highlights the importance of providing decent work and economic growth and eradicate slave labour and Goal 16 for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which calls for the end of abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against women.

Free As A Human was founded in 2018 by Artist and Fashion Designer Anyango Mpinga. Our mission is to uplift survivor voices, share their stories and wisdom in ethical ways. We provide survivors with tailored resources, education, a supportive community and opportunities to use their voices to create change. We believe that creativity and education are vital tools for empowering survivors of human trafficking, as they provide pathways for processing trauma, discovering self-worth, cultivating skills, and igniting hope for the future. Our education programs equip survivors with knowledge and practical skills to gain confidence, independence, and access to opportunity.

Free As A Human Foundation believes strongly in the restorative power of embracing one's creativity and finding positive self-expression. We exist to uplift and empower the voices of human trafficking survivors, using the arts, fashion, and technology to help them share their truth. Our programs and resources focus on healing, skills development, and showcasing survivors' talents. We want to ignite new possibilities for survivors by providing access to innovative education, training, mentorship, and creative platforms.
